How to Care for Your Cabinets

Your kitchen and bathrooms are some of your most used spaces in your home and also the most at risk for spills, stains, and wear & tear. Keep them looking their best so you'll be enjoying beautiful finishes for years to come. Here are some guidelines for caring for your cabinetry:

  • To keep your cabinets and hardware looking their best, wipe them down regularly with a soft cloth

  • Use a mild dish soap solution for tougher spills.

  • Wipe up spills as soon as possible- the longer a spill sits, the higher the chance is that a cabinet's finish can stain or wear. Keep this in mind especially with acidic food and beverages such as lemon juice, wine, coffee, and tomato sauce, or brightly colored foods like mustard, turmeric, or food dyes.

  • Use a touch up kit from your cabinets' manufacturer to fill in small chips or blemishes in the painted or stained finish.

  • If you are using a cleaning product you've never tried before, test it out on a small, inconspicuous area first before cleaning and entire door or panel.
