Quartz countertops

Quartz is a mix of 90-95% crushed natural stone with additives and binders to hold it together. Benefits of quartz are its resemblance to stone and its durability, while also being non-porous. Maintenance on quartz countertops is generally low because of its resistance to staining, but should still be cleaned regularly and spills should be wiped up quickly to help maintain their finish. Warm soapy water is an appropriate cleaner as long as it is fully wiped clean and dry.

Natural stone countertops

Granite, marble, quartzite and soapstone are just a few of the many types of natural stones that exist. Mined right from the ground in large slabs, the organic patterns and individuality give natural stone its beauty. The maintenance on natural stone surfaces vary by the type of stone selected, but using a specially formulated stone cleaner is recommended along with a stone sealer. â€‹

Solid surface countertops

Solid surface countertops are made from a mixture of resin, filler, color pigment and acrylic chips. Like quartz, solid surface is also non-porous and easy to clean but is much softer and prone to scratching, however the surface can be refinished by sanding resulting in them looking brand new. Otherwise, these countertops are low maintenance and can be cleaned simply with warm soapy water.
